Liam Young, born in Australia, is one of the two founders of the London think tank Tomorrow’s Thoughts Today. A group that explores the consequences of fantastic, perverse and underrated urbanisms. After having worked for renowned architect studios such as Zaha Hadid and LAB Architecture Studio, he “escaped from the world of star architects” and now lives and works in London as an independent designer, futurist, critic and curator.
He teaches at the Architectural Association, Bartlett and several other programmes in Europe and Asia. As a curator organizes among other the annual festival Thrilling Wonder Stories and travels with the nomadic design studio Unknown Fields Division.
He explores upcoming biological and technologica futures with speculative stories as critical instruments and likes to debate about their social, political and spatial consequences. Young regularly publishes in international magazines about architecture, urbanism and the future.
